It's Franken Time!

So, as I'm looking over at my polish, I begin to think, I haven't done a franken in a long time! So I think of all the indie craze lately, and decide to whip up my own frankenpolish creation!

This is a combination of Clear, Cosmetic Arts light grey polish which I got at Ross, and China Glaze Tinsel Town. I didn't measure any of them, so if you try to recreate it, you just have to eye it.  I poured out about half of the clear in the Essence bottle, and added the grey polish to it. and then added the glitter, rolled in my palms and voila! This pretty baby came out! And I am in love, because the glitter isn't gritty, it is relatively smooth!

For the photo I didn't use topcoat, so you can see the actual texture of the polish.  I really love how it turned out!

Clarins 230 Franken... What??

 Today's polish is a franken I made.  As many of you know, the beloved Clarins 230 is hard to come by, it is so rare and beautiful it has been named Unicorn Pee.  I have been in search of it for some time, and with it going for $70+ on ebay(which is the only place to find it unless you know someone willing to part with it) I decided to do some research on it.  I came across a blog, More Nail Polish, which had some color morphing pigments that looked similar to Clarins, and I fell in love.  I knew I had to have some.  So I went to the Brides of Frank group and begged for someone to have some in small enough quantities that I could purchase for a smaller amount than the jar on ebay for $45.  And someone bought some and resold to the group.  I can not express my thanks enough, because now my lemming for Clarins 230 has been squashed.

The pigment is called Chameleon Pigment in Copper Red/Green, and unfortunately it is being discontinued. :( I'm glad I got some before it goes away! and I just mixed it into a Color Club topcoat bottle I had, and voila! I have to shake it to get the pigment to disperse if I leave it sitting, but that comes with the territory, because I don't have any suspension base.

Here I layered it over NYX Girls Ink Heart, and 1 layer of my Franken.

(a little warning though, Ink Heart stains like no ones business, so it is definitely best to wear a basecoat with it, unless you want blue nails until they grow out. lol)

Ladies, I don't own Clarins, but from photos I have seen, this looks pretty close.  I absolutely love it and don't want to take it off!

FrankenPolish!

A FrankenPolish is when you mix current polishes you have to create a new polish!

For this Franken, I just dumped a little bit of a couple of glitters I own into one empty TC bottle I had.  when I say a couple I really mean around 24 different glitter polishes...

This is the Result: A rainbow of glitters! It has small and large, round and hex glitter!

 Here is a swatch of it on my bare nail.  The base of it is tinted purple a bit because I added a teensy bit of China Glaze Ruby Pumps and Dorothy Who? in the mix.

Cotton Candy Heaven

Soooooo all you nail fanatics know what this is...

Its a Deborah Lippmann Dupe for Candy Shop

I used a clear bottle from Wet N Wild, and i dumped Ulta's Pinata-yada-yada and Wet N Wild's Party of Five Glitters into it.  Then I used Sinful Colors Star Fish and a tad bit of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Fuschia Power.

yeah that's right.

I got my frankening on.

So for this Franken i Used a pink that i had with no name, an Empty Wet N Wild bottle and some glitter i picked up at Walmart (it came with a funnel)!

Oh, And don't forget your ballz!

I have yet to try it on my nails, but when I do, I'll be sure to post pics!

This was very easy. I very much could have just put the glitter into the bottle, but i wanted to use the other half of the bottle for something else. I like franken-ing so far!
