Orly: Grave Mistake

For these nails I started out with a base of 2 coats of Orly Grave Mistake.  Then I used the shiny mirror reflective dots placed on the nail.

To achieve the mirror dots, I had a metallic gift bag that someone had given me for a birthday, and I purchased a hole punch from Hobby Lobby(in the paper art section with the other hole punches). I used the hole punch to make the dots using the smallest hole available on the punch and this is what I got! I am happy to say that the dots did not crinkle or anything when I put the topcoat on.

To smooth it out I used 1 coat of Gelous and 2 coats of HongKong Girl Topcoat.

Essie and Spoiled Stripes

Ahhhh stripes.  I love stripes. And these stripes are awesome!

I started with a base of 2 coats of Spoiled I Only Eat Salads, followed by striping tape and painting with Essie No More Film.  I think that the color combination is really great together, and the stripes really are a great accent.

I have to say that the green, Spoiled - I Only Eat Salads, Stained my nails SO BAD! My nails were green after I took the polish off, which just makes me remember to put on a base coat now, and to never forget before I use a green or blue again.

Fishtail Nails

Pretty pretty blues.  I got nail mail yesterday from Copious, and decided to give these fishtail nails a try from Chalkboard Nails.  There is also a tutorial on her page as well.

The base of this mani is OPI Dating a Royal which is the polish I got yesterday.  The next layer is Color Club Lumin-escent followed by Jessica Cosmetics Movie Premier. These are just freehanded in a curved chevron pattern.

Essie No More Film with Stamping

For these nails I used Essie No More Film as the base.   It is a blurple that leans more purple in real life.  There are hints of blue though, so it is really hard to photograph. I got No More Film with copious credits last week when they gave $10 extra.  I am still waiting on 2 other polishes, and I plan to do a dupe post of the many blues I have now. lol

The formula was really great, it covered in 1 coat, but I did 2 for good measure. I then stamped with Sally Hansen Insta Dri Whirlwind White using Cheeky Ch10 for the stamp.

I really like how this one turned out. It kind of reminds me of cool wallpaper. lol

Neon has that POW!

Today I decided to go NEON! I just really love neon polish. It just glows on my nails! I was feeling a bit uninspired yesterday, so I turned to my nail wheel for inspiration, and this is what happened! I really love the outcome.

This is 2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White for the base so the neon shines super bright, and then 1 coat of Sinful Colors Neon Melon.  I added the nail art with my dotting tool and Wet N Wild Black Creme.

I just love Neon polish. I can't get enough!

Swatch: Jessica Cosmetics: Oscar Ready

Last weekend I went to TJ Maxx and stumbled upon Jessica Cosmetics Nail Polish.  I had heard of it, and I decided to try them out.  The polishes came in a set with 4 polishes and a topcoat, in a pentagon shaped box.  I purchased 3 different sets that were different, and this polish came from one of them.

The name of this polish is Oscar Ready, and this polish is FABULOUS.  It is a shimmery/metallic-ish red, with red glitters sparkling throughout. I think this is what I wanted China Glaze Ruby Pumps to be.  This polish covered in TWO COATS and is just gorgeous! I will definitely be wearing this pretty polish again!

And a macro, for your viewing pleasure.  It is just gorgeous, I can't get over it.

Striping Tape over Acid Wash Nails

For this mani, I used the previous mani (seen here) and used striping tape and Wet N Wild Black Creme to create the design. I really love using striping tape, you can create so many cool designs.  :)

The colors used in the base are: Illamasqua Poke, Zoya Bevin, and Color Club Sweet Pea

Acid Wash nails!

Acid Wash nails!  I've seen a couple of blogs posting photos of their nails using this technique, and I wanted to try it out.

The technique to get this effect is to paint different layers of polish, and use remover on top of the layers of polish to remove the top colors and show the colors beneath.

I used Illamasqua Poke as the base color, then a layer of Zoya Bevin, and a layer of Color Club Sweet Pea from the Blossoming Collection on top.  Then I used Pure Acetone and an ELF makeup brush I got at target and removed some of the layers of polish to achieve this look!

I think this looks so neat! I love it. :)

Subtle Stamping: Essie to Buy or Not to Buy

Sorry I haven't been very active recently! I purchased some new nail foils and I have been experimenting with them, and searching for a top coat that doesn't crinkle it.

I found this Essie for $2 at my local Rite Aid and I used Sally Hansen InstaDri Whirlwind White for the stamping, which I also found at Rite Aid on clearance.

Essie To Buy or Not to Buy stamped with Red Angel RA114.
