Day 10: Creative Lacquer Challenge Superheros

For todays challenge I chose WonderWoman. :)

The Red is Cadillac Red from Color Club. That is my favorite red at the moment.
The blue is Royal by Revlon.
The stamp is from the Cheeky Set CH4.

Day 9: Creative Lacquer Challenge: 3D

Today's post is 3D nail art.  I used Striping tape for this mani.  I used the Silver holographic striping tape that i bought off of ebay in a lot of 10 for around $1.50.

For the mani color I used 2 coats of Revlon Royal, 1 coat of Milani Totally Cool, and the striping tape to do the design.

I was thinking about adding rhinestones to the design, but I didn't want it to be too much.

FrankenPolish!

A FrankenPolish is when you mix current polishes you have to create a new polish!

For this Franken, I just dumped a little bit of a couple of glitters I own into one empty TC bottle I had.  when I say a couple I really mean around 24 different glitter polishes...

This is the Result: A rainbow of glitters! It has small and large, round and hex glitter!

Here is a swatch of it on my bare nail.  The base of it is tinted purple a bit because I added a teensy bit of China Glaze Ruby Pumps and Dorothy Who? in the mix.

Here are a few swatches over Nicole By OPI You're S-Teal The One(1 coat over black)

And these are all the glitters I mixed if you are wondering! If you want to know more about a specific glitter pictured ask in the comments!

Wet N Wild Black Creme
Color Club Almost Famous
Color Club Cadillac Red

I painted the Yellow Brick road,
Dorothys shoes(of course I used Ruby Pumps for those ;) )
The wicked Witch
and the yellow brick road to Oz.

Day 5: Creative Lacquer Challenge

Inspired by something in your house.

Ok, I'm not going to lie, I did the awesome watermarble nails, and then went on a quest to find something in my house to match so I could use it for todays post.. I know kinda backwards from what we were supposed to do. :P  But I did such an awesome marble and I remembered I had a dress with the same colors, so  I think it should count.  even though I could have done a splatter mani with these colors and made it even closer to my "inspiration."

For this marble I used China Glaze Traffic Jam, Color Club Almost Famous and Color Club Chelcea Girl. I put a layer of white on before I did the marble so that the colors would pop. :)

The Inspiration: A one shoulder "splatter" dress.

Day 4 Creative Lacquer Challenge: An Untried

For my Untried in todays challenge I am going to show you Nails Inc Whitehall.  A MAGNETIC!

This magnetic is fantastic, it is a teal-y color and the magnet gives it black strokes across.  It is so gorgeous!  You may remember where I got this polish... my boyfriend brought it over when he came from the UK to visit me! <3

How pretty! This is in my untrieds because he brought me so many pretties I haven't known what to do with them all!

I will say I have swatched it on my nail swatch sticks, and on my finger I think, but it hasn't been shown on my blog, so I have it for you today. :)

Be sure to check out Bec's blog post for her nails today!

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple

I have Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple for you today! How gorgeous is this polish? I keep seeing all of the Clarins 230 dupes and this is the closest thing I have to it, and it is nowhere near what it even looks like. lol. but it is so pretty it satisfied my appetite for color morphing glitter :)

I used 2 coats of OPI Grape Set Match, and then 2 coats of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple.

and a bajillion pictures to get you drooling. :)

Look at this bottle shot... its like a rainbow in a bottle...

and the strong green flash:

Hope you enjoyed these. ;)

do you own any kleancolor chunky holos?

Hunger Games: Effie Trinket Reaping Nails

The Midnight premier of The Hunger Games was awesome!

Last night I went with my family and friends, we got there really early to get good seats, and we watched the midnight premier of The Hunger Games. While watching the movie, of course I payed attention  to the nails when they were shown... and one in particular stood out to me.  Effie Trinket's nails from the Reaping looked like something I could easily re-create, so I hope you can see the similarities!

I used Zoya Tru as the base, then used a makeup sponge to dab on Piggy Polish Gold for it! on the tips, then I added NYX Girls Gilded Glitter for a little bit bigger chunks of glitter. :)

Here are some photos of her nails at the reaping:

I think I did pretty well recreating the look. :)

What do you think?

Day 2 Creative Lacquer Challenge: Favourite Color

My all time favorite color is Chartreuse.  I just love the color. I love the name. The color is just vibrant and pops to me! So these are the nails I came up with for the Creative Lacquer Day 2 Challenge:

China Glaze - Electric Pineapple
Accent nail is freehand paisley with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and Color Club Chelcea Girl

 I like it. :):)

And here is what appears when I google Chartreuse: lol

my nails look a but more yellow than these photos, but I do believe that it is a variation of Chartreuse.

Truvia Natural Sweetener Product Review

Truvia.  I know this is a nail blog, but in my Influenster Love VoxBox I received Truvia, and I wanted to write a post about it.   I had to include some nail art with it to keep it on topic. :)

To Start, I really like Truvia, I put it in my tea one day, instead of pure sugar, and i couldn't taste a difference! It is really nice!  I'm not really sure what else to say about it other than you have to try it yourself!

XOX Caitlin

What do you think of my nail art? lol.

I received this product from Influenster Love Voxbox

Venus & Olay Razor

I already showed you guys the Kiss Nail Dress I received in my Influenster Love VoxBox, and another review I have is of the Venus and Olay Razor that was sent in my VoxBox as well!

I tried this razor about a day after I got my VoxBox and i love it!  It left my legs feeling very smooth and silky. The razor I normally use is a mans razor from Gilette(the same company who makes Venus) because men's razors tend to shave better in my opinion.  This razor stood up to the test, and was very similar to the mens razor I had been using, but it has the added sides with the shave bars attached.  The shave bars worked very well, I didn't have to use any shaving cream, and it really does leave your legs smooth.  This is the Venus & Olay Razor I received in the box.

"
For the first time ever, Gillette Venus, a global leader in female shaving, and Olay, a global leader in skincare, are coming together to deliver a gold standard in shaving with the new Gillette Venus & Olay razor. Venus’ best shaving technology works with Olay Moisture Bars, offering women best-of-both-worlds shaving and skin expertise. Olay Moisture Bars help lock-in moisture to your skin for less dryness, and with every smoothing stroke, Venus’ five blades shave you close.

Product Details
  • Venus’ five-bladed razors shave you close and adjust to women’s curves for a smooth and comfortable shave, even over tricky shaving areas like knees and ankles.
  • Olay Moisture Bars contain skin-enhancing elements found in Olay products: Petrolatum helps lock in skin’s moisture for less dryness and Glycerin helps offer that goddess glow! Just wet the razor to release a light lather – no separate shave cream required.
  • As with most Venus razors, new Venus & Olay also features a rounded, pivoting head designed for women’s curves, and a soft-grip ergonomic handle for confident control, even in wet and soapy environment"

I would suggest using this for your legs, using it on your armpits would be kind of hard, because of the soap bars attached.

Do I like this product?  YES again! These razors are awesome! seriously.

Would I buy again?  YES definitely! I will be buying replacement heads, these are perfect and I absolutely Love them!

Kiss Nail Dress Review

I am a huge fan of polish.  When I signed up for Influenster I never expected I would be chosen to receive a VoxBox, but I did! I received the Love VoxBox last week, and have been testing out the products over the past week, and today I have for you Kiss Nail Dress, which are nail decals that you can wear instead of painting your nails.  These types of instant polish have been big lately, and honestly I like painting my nails, so before now I had never owned any of these.  Today I bring you my review.  :)

"Fashion That Sticks
Introducing Kiss Nail Dress, ultimate nail fashion for tips and toes! Just peel, apply, and shape for a manicure that lasts up to 10 days. On in minutes, off in seconds without remover. Nail Dress is available in 18 different styles, many of them featuring 3-dimensional jeweled designs. Check out Peplum, a deep black with multi-colored gems for a pop of color, or Babydoll, for a golden and glamorous jeweled look. Skip the topcoat, Nail Dress has it built in.

With 28 strips in each package, you can cut up your extras to create designs that can be used on top of polished or artificial nails. Nail Dress doesn’t dry out the way other polish strips can, so you can save them to use on your next DIY mani. A nail design booklet is included in each package, just in case you need a little inspiration.

And don’t forget about your feet! Nail Dress looks awesome on toes, too – just use the square side of the sticker for a perfect fit.

Where to Buy
Nail Dress’ suggested retail is $6.99 and is available in all major drug chains and mass retailers like WalMart, CVS and Walgreens.

Visit KissNailDress.com to learn more!"

The instructions on the back of the package:

Step 1: select size that fits the nail
Step 2: apply near, not on cuticle, &smooth away from center
Step 3:  fold down over edge &file excess.

Right Hand:

Left Hand(which I normally don't show):

The main problem I have with this kit is the file given.  This file is very rough. I would personally never use a file that rough on my nails, and I don't like it.   They left the edge of the nail rough and I can still feel the product on the tips of my nails. I believe this file is to blame. below you can see the rough free edges.

Do I like this product: yes! I think that these are a very easy way for everyone to have art on their nails without sitting down to paint your nails or going to the salon.

Would I purchase again?: Probably not, they are not for me, I enjoy painting my nails.  They would be perfect for the person that is on the go all the time, or for someone who wants a quick fix, without any drying time.

More Nail Art!

Today I just wanted to do more nail art with my new dotters, because they are super fun and easy.  I have a set of 5 I bought off of ebay (that I will do a post on, as soon as all of my ebay nail stuff comes in!) and I love them.

I have some pink scroll print nails over black today.

I used Wet N Wild Black Creme as a base, and then used my smallest dotter to draw the design with Color Club Hot Like Lava.

Hello Kitty Nail Art!

Rebecca from Rebecca Likes Nails is hosting a nail art contest!

"THE THEME:
My favorite things! I want you to create a manicure that you think I'd love, using my favorite nail art techniques or themes, which are: gradients, animal print, bows, dots, and Hello Kitty.
Create your manicure using one (or more!) of those 5 ideas, and submit it.
Your design doesn't have to be limited to these ideas but just make sure at least one is included somewhere.
Feel free to go back through my posts and take inspiration from them!"

I chose Hello Kitty and Animal Print!

I did a Cheetah print on all of the nails except the ring finger, and I used dotting tools to freehand the hello kitty head onto my nails.

The colors used:

Color Club Poptastic - background
Color Club Hot Like Lava - inside of cheetah and HK Bow
Wet N Wild French White Creme - HK
Wet N Wild Black Creme - details
and as I stated above I used my new dotting tools from ebay!

What do you think of them? Are you entering the contest?
