Zombie Nails

I have zombie nails for you today.  Zombie, you say?  Yes! I went to a Zombie Murder Mystery dinner last night, and of course we dressed up.  These were my zombie-fied nails. ;)

I just used wet n wild black creme, and then remover to remove most of it and make it look gross and disgusting.

Just for fun here is a bonus picture of me and my roomies,  Lauren as Zombie Audrey Hepburn, Brittany as Zombie Daisy from the Great Gatsby, and me as Zombie Michael Jackson. lol

lol zombies are fun!

OPI Grape... Set... Match

I already Showed you Grape Set Match with Elle's Spell here, and now I wanted to show you Grape Set Match on its own.  Its a very pretty color.  I purchased it in the two pack Serena Glam Slam, from TJ Maxx.

This purple has two colors of purple in it, I won't say its a duochrome, because its not, it just has an interesting color, and here are some pictures to show what I'm talking about.

What makes purple better?

I was just swatching OPI's Grape Set Match, and when I was done taking the photographs, I decided to add Elle's Spell, to see what it would look like.  OMG. Just look at these gorgeous pictures of it.  I can't even begin to describe.

3 coats of OPI Grape... Set... Match and 1 coat of Barielle Elle's Spell.

The red tint to Elle's Spell makes it so rich in color, and the flakies add something that was missing from the cool purple shimmer.

What do you think of this layering experiment? I think it turned out amazing!

Barielle Elle's Spell

Sorry I have been missing the past week! School has been hectic.

Today I have for you Barielle Elle's Spell.  This is a Red Jelly with awesome orange/gold flakies that flash green!  This polish is amazing.

Shown are 3 coats of Elle's Spell by itself.  It is quite sheer, and I think this one would be gorgeous layered, because you can still see the Visible Nail Line with 3 coats. I also think this one will be a beauty over black, and I will be trying it soon, to show you guys.

Here you can see the flashes of green.  The green pops at you when you look at certain angles.

What do you think? Do you own Elle's Spell?

Some Under the Sea Nail Art!

Sarah at Chalkboard Nails is having a nail art contest, and  I decided to enter!  The main requirement was that your nail art be painted with a dotting tool, so I pulled out my trusty dotting tool, and went to work!

I believe that this would be a squid, from the shape of the head, so look at my cute purple squid!

The polishes I used are: OPI Skull and Glossbones as the base, then OPI Funky Dunkey, Zoya Caitlin, Wet N Wild Black Creme and French White Creme, and topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite. :)

Also, I only used the round dotting tool end, because the brush part is gross, and I wasn't even supposed to use it anyhow.

What do you think? Will you be entering?

Pure Ice Comparison (with Macros)

Over the past week I have accumulated a few Pure Ice Polishes, and I wanted to do a comparison for my readers, so they can know which ones they want to go and pick up.  I have macro shots along with a bottle shot of each polish, so that you can tell a difference in the store. :)

All of my photos are shot under a desk lamp. and this is one coat of each over Wet N Wild Black Creme. (except the last macro with all of the polishes layered together)

They all retail for $1.97 at Walmart.  (you may have to go to more than one, because I picked these up at 3 different ones, the all had different selection, because mine were totally wiped out, I hope they restock fully soon)

Busted:

In the bottle it is purple with gold-purple duochrome, I love how this turned out on the nail!

 Oh Baby!:

This one has an initially blue shimmer, and then the shimmer turns the pinky-purple color.

 Heart Breaker:

This beauty flashes an amazing cobalt blue at extreme angles (I couldn't capture it in this photo, because the angle is extreme) but you can still see the a little bit of a teal-y shift towards the base of the nail.

 Tease:

Originally on the nail Tease and Rio looked very similar, but Tease has a more pink base on the nail that flashes a little blue.

Rio:

Compared to Tease, this one has alot more blue shift in it,  If you look at the nail you can see the purple shift in the middle, and I think that it looks amazing!

This last Macro is All of them put together on one nail: Just look at this beauty! OMG

What do you think of these polishes? Do you own any? Are you going to run out and pick them all up? ;)

Pure Ice - Oh Baby

Pure Ice Oh Baby! is another Walmart polish, and it is a beauty! The base is milky with blue-purple shimmer in it, and just look at the amazing duo-chromy-goodness in this polish.

It flashes blue-green to purply-pink, and for $1.97 I had to pick it up! It is sooo gorgeous on the nails, and it is fun to watch change color in front of the light!

*edit  Here is a bottle shot in case you wanted to go looking for it. ;)

What do you think? Do you have any Pure Ice polishes? I bet you are going to go out and get some after all of my swatches this past week. :P

Weekend Haul!

I haven't posted over the past weekend because I went home, and while I was home I acquired quite a few new pretties! :)

Also, As soon as I get to 200 followers I'm going to have a giveaway!

I got 2 bottles of China Glaze Blonde Bombshell (one for the giveaway!) The Eye Candy collection is now on clearance at Sallys! (and they also have a $1 off coupon, so I got these for $.99 each!)

Big Lots had sets of 2 Revlon Polishes for $2 per pack, so I picked up 2 packs (one for the giveaway! lol)

I went to Ross and found the Color Club All About Color set which came in a pack of 7 polishes for $8.  Also while Iwas at Ross, they had a new display of neon polishes, and one looked similar to Warhol(my absolute favorite pink!) and I had to pick it up to see if it was that close, I am going to do a comparison soon.

I got the Pure Ice Oh Baby! from Walmart for $1.97, and it is absolutely gorgeous! I am going to post a review of it right after I am done typing up this post!

I got 2 bottles of WNW Black Creme for free, because I had a printed off coupon from the register from CVS for B1G1free WNW, and I also had $1 in extra-care bucks.

I went to TJ Maxx and they finally had the Serena Glam Slam 2 packs for $7, and I got both of them.

I had fun this weekend, and got some very pretty babies! :)

China Glaze Blue Years Eve Over Black

I noticed that this polish has a really cool purple duo in it, and wanted to see the purple really pop, so I put one coat of WNW Black Creme, and then one coat of Blue Years Eve and just look at how pretty this came out! I think my new hobby is painting duos over black to see their color come to life.

You have to clikc these to see the amazing beauty of this polish.

You can see a little more purple in this picture,  it is much more noticeable in person, It was soooo hard to photograph!

Pure Ice: Tease

Today I have the cousin to heartbreaker, Tease, which is a pink/blue shimmer in a bright pink base.  This polish is also a Pure Ice polish from Walmart and cost around $2.

After I purchased Heart Breaker and discovered all of its amazing glory, I decided to go back to walmart and see if I could find more Pure Ice Shimmers, and to my luck I came across Tease and another polish I will review later.  I am still hunting for Oh Baby, and as soon as I find it I will snatch it up. ;)

Here is one coat of Pure Ice Tease over Wet N Wild Black Creme.

Look at all that pink-blue shimmery goodness! I think these pure Ice polishes are a great bargain and they are soo pretty! What do you think?
