Oktoberfest with Gilded Glitter
So as usual I have been busy, and school never seems to let up for enough time to blog. I am able to today though, and I'm happy to show you these beautiful nails. When I look at these they remind me of my high school colors of maroon and gold, and I feel that these colors go very well together.
I used OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest for these nails, followed by NYX Girls Gilded Glitter on top for a simple look.

New Year's Mani
Today's Mani is my attempt at Nail Foil. I purchased foil a while back, and while I like the way it looks when you first apply it, i hate how crinkly it gets with topcoat. :(
To create this mani I used 1 coat of Wet N Wild Black Creme as the base, followed by the foil glue, then the foil Roman Marble from dollarnailart.com, then 2 coats of topcoat, which still didn't even out the foil. This doesn't look terrible, but it would look better if it weren't crinkled.
I recently stumbled upon this site and I plan to try this if I can find it at hobby lobby. It looks like it might be the answer.

Ditit-al Dozen Blue Week: Turquoise and gold
Blue Week Day 3!
So a few weeks ago all over nail boards and groups there was a technique called "Saran Wrap" or "Cling Wrap" mani. There are two variations of the Saran Wrap mani, and I have one for you today.
I used Kiko 344 as the base of these nails, followed by Orly Glitz for the gold accent on top using Saran Wrap.
The way I achieved these nails, was by painting the gold onto a piece of paper and balling up my saran wrap and dabbling it onto the polish and then dabbling it onto my nails.
The other variation you paint a base color and then paint the second color and use saran wrap to remove the top layer so the bottom layer comes through, instead of using the saran wrap to apply the polish. That is the main difference. I may do a variation of that soon on my blog. We shall see. :)

"I don't know what to think" Mani
A while back I purchased a few of the China Glaze Hunger Games polishes on clearance. I am a sucker for clearance, and I hate paying full price for anything.
I put on Dress Me Up as a base coat, and I just have to say, THIS IS NOT MY COLOR. lol. This color does not go with my skintone at all. It made my hands look weird, and I really hated the color on its own. I'm sure that it looks pretty on other people, but on me, it just doesn't flow. lol. The color in online swatches looks like a more camel toned, but on my nails(and maybe its just because of my skintone) It looked much more like a nude blushing rosy color, with a touch of peach and a touch of camel. It just has a mauve vibe. I wanted to like it so bad, but I just couldn't.
Since I had this color on that looked terrible on me, I figured why not do a little stamping and post it as a fail on the blog, so here it is! I don't actually think that it looks that bad once it has the stamp on it. I used Orly Glitz (sidenote: my glitz isn't glitz&glamour like most, it just says glitz on the bottle, does that mean anything? lol)
I used the Red Angel stamping plate RA109 for the flower image.
Well, I don't love it, but it isn't too bad. What do you think?

BFF Nail Art Challenge: Girly Girl
For the 2nd installment of BFF Challenge, the theme was Girly Girl. :) I was thinking of doing something flowery, but we have flowers coming up, so I wanted to do something that is girly, but better fits my personality. :)
I started out with 2 costs of this gorgeous seafoam from Color Club, Blue-Ming, and then added the heart accents with Orly Glitz. I added a topcoat of HK Girl to finish it off.
How adorable are these? :) I am so in love with these, it is not even funny.
(ignore the bottle, I put the wrong sticker on! oopsie)
Don't forget to check out the other lovely ladies in on this challenge, They have some pretty great nail art as well! :)

Hunger Games: Effie Trinket Reaping Nails
The Midnight premier of The Hunger Games was awesome!
Last night I went with my family and friends, we got there really early to get good seats, and we watched the midnight premier of The Hunger Games. While watching the movie, of course I payed attention to the nails when they were shown... and one in particular stood out to me. Effie Trinket's nails from the Reaping looked like something I could easily re-create, so I hope you can see the similarities!
I used Zoya Tru as the base, then used a makeup sponge to dab on Piggy Polish Gold for it! on the tips, then I added NYX Girls Gilded Glitter for a little bit bigger chunks of glitter. :)
Here are some photos of her nails at the reaping:
I think I did pretty well recreating the look. :)

Days 25 & 26 of untrieds.
OK, So to catch back up I am going to show you two new untrieds, the first is Cosmetic Arts burgundy(it really has no name, this is just the color). The next is a glitter over top that I just got today! it is NYX Girls Gilded Glitter.
I love anything by Forsythe Cosmetics. They are the makers of Color Club and Cosmetic Arts. (also Funky Fingers which can be found at 5below) This burgundy/garnet is beautiful. This is 3 coats.
This is NYX Girls Gilded Glitter. It is an AMAZING gold flakie. I got it for only $1, and for that price, I may go back to get more. It kind of reminds me of the new gold Essie As Gold as it Gets, but I think that Gilded Glitter has more/bigger gold flakie chunks in it. Maybe someone can compare? I don't normally purchase alot of Essie.
